Sisu is an artistic community providing a platform to educate, inspire and showcase aspiring female DJ's and producers.

The national Sisu DJ course aims to teach the skills needed to DJ from scratch, the classes are small ensuring that there is a very hands-on practical approach to the sessions. Providing access to industry-standard equipment, a course structure and a workbook. 

Sisu's holistic approach to teaching DJ'ing has unfolded many success stories from course participants having played at Fabric, on Rinse FM, hosted their own events, played gigs abroad, radio shows and even full circle tutored on the DJ course! 

Previous tutors include: A-Bee, Alexis, Breakwave, Chantal, Coco Cole, Dutchie, Flic, Holly, Jasmin, Jyoty, Lauryn, Lusinda, Malissa, Meach, Michelle Monetti, Nettles, Phoebe Valentine, Violent Blondes and many more exciting tutors to come!  

The course is composed of varying levels of expertise starting from beginner sessions, intermediate and ending on a masterclass session.

Beginners  

The beginner sessions approach learning about DJ'ing from scratch, these sessions are for those who might have little or no experience with DJ'ing or might just want to know what it is all about!

Intermediate

The intermediate classes are perfect for someone who has had a go on a pair of decks before and understands basic beat-matching but might need to revise this or who may want to learn more in-depth technical skills such as filter use or switching between genres.

Masterclass 

The course ends on a masterclass session which consists of  having a set amount of time to mix with the tutor really focusing on what next steps can be taken to improve particular skill sets whilst in the mix.

The course is taught mainly on CDJS with the option of vinyl. We discuss the use of controllers in the beginners session too. 
Course Progression 
We have various other platforms such as our mix series, radio shows, open decks etc and we encourage and support participants to get involved in different parts of the community. 

We also run a scholarship scheme for our courses which is available to apply for with the idea of giving awarded opportunities to various applicants who might otherwise not be able to be involved and whom would benefit greatly from this apply for this via courses@sisucrew.co.uk

The full course is priced at a discounted rate however depending on availability tickets will be re-released and can be purchased separately as beginner, intermediate and masterclass options. Subject to availability.

Do I need to bring my own music? 

We provide a variety of genres in digital format however we do encourage participants to bring their own tracks on a USB too.

Do I need my own DJ equipment?

Having your own equipment always helps during the course but is not essential.
