DETROIT SWINDLE (Extended Set)

We’re over the moon to have Dutch duo Detroit Swindle, a.k.a Lars & Maarten headline upstairs for our penultimate party of the season. Especially given than when we first sent the booking enquiry, their agent informed us that they are super keen to play World HQ after hearing so many great things about the club from their fellow DJ’s! Label heads, producers, but first & foremost fantastic DJs, these guys have the ability to really take dancers on a journey over the course of the night, something we’re very excited to experience given their long set!

We’re really excited to have the Discwoman crew in downstairs, all the way over from New York for this one! A collective and DJ booking agency that exclusively represents cis women, trans women, and genderqueer artists, co-founder Umfang launched Discoman in 2014 with the aim to create a platform showcasing the wealth of female-identified DJ talent in the electronic music community. Since then the crew have been gaining plenty attention from both side of the pond for their wild Techno Acid & Electro parties, & we’re over the moon to give two of their member's their debut on Tyneside.

VOLVOX

Volvox joins Umfang for the Discwoman takeover & has an equally formidable reputation for her talent behind the decks. The first signing to their roster, Volvox was already an established N.Y.C. DJ when she joined the movement. It was Volvox in fact, who first switched us on to the Discwoman movement with her frankly insane solo Boiler Room performance last year. Since then, she has gone on to become one of the underground Club scenes rising stars & its safe to say we're very very excited to welcome her to World HQ!
